Jim Paon has been in the fine jewelry business for nearly 30 years. Starting out as an apprentice diamond setter at the L.G. Balfour Company in Attleboro, Massachusetts, he learned his craft first hand from some of the best in the business. The Balfour motto was “Jewelry’s Finest Craftsmen”. Jim has always strived to live up to that title and employs people who take equal pride in their trade.
He founded Ashley Elizabeth Jewelers in 1990 and has enjoyed a successful career in the same location in East Providence, Rhode Island. The heart of his business always beat in the shop where his artistic side could be nurtured. Crossing the bridge from diamond setter to bench jeweler/goldsmith was not only the natural transformation but a necessity. Having the ability to not only service what he sold but gladly servicing items purchased elsewhere is the key to Ashley Jewelers’ success.
Several years ago, he realized the changing business climate of the retail jeweler. With increasing competition from large mall retailers, jewelry television networks and especially the internet it was time to reshape his business. Experiencing the needs and concerns of his customers and, having a continued passion for his career for nearly 3 decades inspired him to build on this knowledge by creating a new identity: AshleyJewelers.com.
Jim has completely renewed his business by expanding the hometown feel of his beautiful Showroom and Design Center to a national audience. He personally takes an active role in assuring your complete satisfaction and welcomes you to his family of customers.
