Is it safe to ship my jewelry?

Absolutely yes! Sending your jewelry through the mail or by couriers such as UPS or FedEx is a very common practice.  We ship and receive hundreds of packages every year with a 99.9% success rate.  The only factor that can hold things up in transit is weather or state of emergency which is extremely rare.  With the online tracking capability of today, both you and AshleyJewlers.com will know exactly where your package is every step of the way!

If you have your own packing materials such as box, bubble wrap, shipping label, etc. simply go to the repair form and follow the simple instructions for packing and shipping.  If you are in need of shipping materials we’ll be happy to send you everything you need to safely and securely ship your jewelry items to us.  (Request packing materials

Here are a few instructions to assist you in preparing your jewelry for shipping to Ashley Jewelers:

  1. Place your jewelry items in a zip lock bag (separately if possible).
  2. Place items in appropriate sized shipping box
  3. Use packing material such as newspaper or bubble wrap to prevent shifting in transit
  4. Securely tape all seams and closures on box
  5. Affix our printable ship to label on the box; our ship to name will be abbreviated for security purposes.  It will say A.E.J. (Ashley Elizabeth Jewelers).
  6. Affix your return address label to top left corner of the box just like a letter follow instructions for either UPS, FedEx or go to your local post office to ship your package.
    Please insure your package!  Loss is extremely rare however it is still a good practice to insure everything in transit!

What happens once Ashley Jewelers receives my package? [Back to Top]

Once your package is received at Ashley Jewelers we will immediately open and inspect your jewelry.  The first thing we do is take a magnified digital image of your item and send you a link by email to view it on our website.  We will then evaluate and assess what is needed to repair or restore your jewelry.  Within approximately one hour you will receive an email, a phone call or both to give you an estimate for the services to be performed.

If you wish to have your repair done, you will receive a payment option form by email.  Your repair will only be charged to your account after it is complete and about to be shipped.  In the event you decide not to repair your jewelry, Ashley Jewelers will return your item(s) back to you right away.

AshleyJewelers.com will notify you when your repairs are complete and have shipped.  You will also have a tracking number by which to follow the shipping progress of your package.

You will find that this procedure is much less time consuming than actually taking it to a jeweler to drop it off then having to return to pick it up.  The whole process is easy, very interesting and efficient!

Yes.  Our primary goal is for you to be 100% satisfied in your experience with AshleyJewelers.com!  We have established the following reasonable guarantee guidelines for you to review:

AshleyJewelers.com will guarantee everything we repair or engrave for one year from the date it shipped out from our store unless discussed when giving you an estimate. This means we guarantee such things as stones not falling out or becoming loose and the parts that we made or repaired will not break in the areas in which we worked. Watch repairs are guaranteed for six months.

  • Loss of any prong set stone that has 3 or less prongs
  • Loss of any round stone over ½ carat unless it is set in a six prong gold setting or a four prong Platinum setting.
  • Loss of any prong set stone unless it has the following number of prongs (Or unless they are set in Platinum):

  • Prong set stones that have thin prongs, missing prongs, or stones that are set crooked, leaving a much shorter prong on one side of the stone than the other.
  • Bead setting where the beads are badly worn or some beads are missing or stones that are set crooked, leaving part of the girdle of the stone to be sticking up beyond the surface of the metal.
  • Channel setting where either the channel is very thin, torn, not straight across the stones OR there is no support underneath the channels to hold them together. Example: No cross wires or support to keep the channel from pulling away leaving the stone to loosen up or fall out.
  • Bezel setting where the bezel is too thin, torn, or the stone is set crooked and not all of the stone is held in by the bezel.

Ring Sizing
  • If we size your ring to the requested size and that size is incorrect, we will have to charge you again to re-size the ring.)
  • The ring size on a ring will not change, but because a customer’s finger can become larger or smaller because of diet, medication, the weather or weight change, we can only guarantee ring sizings for 30 days from the date it ships from our store.

Tightening and Checking [Back to Top]

  • Tightening stones: If stones need to be tightened and AshleyJewelers.com does the work involved to tighten them then the piece will carry a warranty against stone loss as long as the stones are set as described above. Without the estimate approval to tighten the stones, we will not be able to warranty the stones against loss.
  • Checking Links: When AshleyJewelers.com is asked to “check links” on rivets, chains, bracelets, clasps, etc., we can not guarantee their loss or durability. Many items can not be checked without taking them completely apart. This will cause the item to have to be repaired just because of the disassembly. Many items that are wearing “ok” today may have a problem days or weeks later. We can only guarantee items that we actually repair, not ones that are visually inspected.
  • Retipped prongs on stones
    AshleyJewelers.com can not guarantee the loss of a stone when we do not retip or reprong all of the prongs when we deem necessary to repair all of the prongs or tips.

Gems and Diamonds [Back to Top]

  • AshleyJewelers.com does not guarantee that a diamond or gemstone, once taken out of our store will not chip, break, scratch, or fracture. No stone, including a diamond, can be guaranteed not to break, chip, scratch, or fracture. We strongly suggest insuring your jewelry with your homeowners policy or our recommended insurer Jewelers Mutual. They will pay for damage.
  • AshleyJewelers.com can not be responsible for the further fracture or damage to stones or diamonds that are received from the customer that are already damaged, chipped, broken, or have large inclusions or imperfections. We will inform you of these items before proceeding with the repair or installation work.
